Coffee lovers listen up! Cork Coffee Weekend is back with a bang!
Following the hugely successful inaugural event in 2016, Cork will once again host demonstrations, fun talks and much more, for Cork Coffee Weekend 2017. Now in its second year, the idea was inspired by the influx of quality and quirky cafés to hit Cork. It’s safe to say Cork is now a contender for the title of Coffee Capital of Ireland.
The caffeine-packed weekend highlights and celebrates home-grown micro-roasters, as well as the truly unique Cork coffee scene.
The team behind the event have planned an exciting three days, with something for everyone. From talks with expert roasters, to fun barista showdowns, to brewing sessions, and of course tastings (yum!). Cork’s very own Stevie G will also be on hand to give us the soundtrack to the perfect coffee. Best of all? January budgets won’t be affected – the weekend is completely free!
While this year’s participants have yet to be announced, if last year is anything to go by we’re certainly in for a treat. 2016’s event saw the best of the best on show, with brewer’s like Filter, Cork Coffee Roaster’s and Duke’s showcased. Participating café are carefully selected not only for their quality brew, but for that something special – that extra pizazz! Event-organisers have said that these distinctive coffee personalities are exactly what inspired them to create Cork’s first Coffee Weekend.
