Down2Earth Materials are delighted to be able to sponsor The Special Olympics Ireland Games taking place in Limerick from the 12th to 15th June of this year. 1,500 athletes from the 4 corners have been training for this event and will soon be heading to the games to compete for their chance at gold.
42 years ago, Eunice Kennedy Shriver established Special Olympics – an organisation that would grow from an idea in her head into a global movement that would dramatically change the lives of millions.
Today 3 million athletes in more than 180 countries around the world benefit from being involved with Special Olympics.
Special Olympics Ireland is one of the largest voluntary organisations in the world. Founded in 1978, today it boasts 9,361 athletes participating in 15 sports in 385 Clubs throughout the island of Ireland. All these athletes are supported by an impressive network of more than 25,000 volunteers.
AND WE ARE THRILLED TO BE A PART OF THE PROGRAM THIS YEAR!! We are proud to be helping in our own unique way by suppling the event with fully compostable, custom printed ‘Special Olympics’ cups.

WE WISH THE VERY BEST OF LUCK TO ALL THE ATHLETES PARTICIPATING. YOU ARE ALL AN INSPIRATION.
Not much happens without a dream. And for something great to happen, there must be a great dream. Behind every great achievement is a dreamer of great dreams. Much more than a dreamer is required to bring it to reality; but the dream must be there first.
